The booklet 40:LOVE was created during the third semester as part of a Typography and Layout module. The assignment was to engage with a topic of personal meaning through design and typography. Therefore I chose tennis, a sport that has played a central role in my life.
To reflect the heritage and elegance of the game, I chose a black-and-white theme with generous white space and the classic serif typeface „The Seasons“ for the headings. In contrast, the body text is set in the modern, sans-serif „Circe“ — a nod to the sport’s contemporary side. In addition, yellow markings run across the pages, recreating the familiar marks left behind when playing on clay courts.
The cover was designed in Adobe Illustrator and features a stylized „40“, with the zero forming a tennis ball, alongside the word “LOVE”. In tennis scoring, „40:LOVE“ represents a strong lead — just one point away from winning the game.
